Cadogan compares his time in Jamaica and the U.S ver differently. In Jamaica it was about running into dangerous people, while in the US it was more about poeople getting away from him because he was black. He separates his time in the US as being divided by racism. He joins both experiences by saying that in Jamaica he blended in while in the US he was immediately dangerous just for being black. In TV shows it is being used to show people how racism has affected African Americans.
