In the article, “BC-BBO–Juiced Baseballs?”, Ronald Blum discusses how their is currently a conspiracy about baseballs being ‘juiced’ which causes them to be hit out easier to be hit out of the ball park. Blum states that this year in the 2017 World Series, their has been a record of 22 home runs hit by the Houston Astros, and the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 7 game series; the most amount ever hit in a World Series.  The commissioner of Major League Baseball, Rob Manfred, “denies anything nefarious is going on” (Blum, 2017, p. 1). based off of statements of the baseballs being ‘juiced’. After game 6 the starting pitcher of the Houston Astros, Justin Verlander, claimed how “the balls are slicker” (Blum, 2017, p. 1).
