I honestly can’t recall a time where I have been tokenized based on my physical or external appearances. Based on my appearance I feel as though people assume that I am really friendly and outgoing. However that could also come off as a negative thing. I am typically a confident person with the ability to engage with anyone I wish too. I am consistently talking, laughing, etc.; and from an outside perspective, this could appear as “fake.”
A lot of times I have become friends with people and have been told that if they hadn’t met me, they otherwise would’ve disliked me. I don’t exactly understand why this is, whether it be from jealousy or just wrong assumptions. A confident personality can very easily come off as arrogant, or one being overly sure of themselves.
I feel as though, no matter how close to the truth, assumptions are always inaccurate.
