We both think whether they have experiences relevant to their studies or a project is an important effect for students to decide the education is worth the cost or not. However, Yifu agrees with the statement that taking a variety of courses in college is “about learning to be a well-rounded student ready for anything in the workforce. He thinks to learn more courses can help people solve any problems that may face in the workforce. I disagree with the statement, that take a lot of courses doesn’t mean you master it and you are a well-rounded people. This basic knowledge just can help your major work, For example, you study in art,  if you learn some math courses, it can help you calculus the profit. If you learn a foreign language, it can help you learn more about other cultures and create more wonderful works.

The college education in our country is less freedom. We have the fixed schedule. We need to go to the class at the same time. Meanwhile, we have a lot of homework to do.  The family pressure is also bigger than U.S. Parents will ask you to study harder to get in a better school. Because the better schools mean better future.

the word in the book means the pressure of students

Agarwal opinion: Thinking critically and marketable skills are important to survive in this world because as critical thinking helps in the understanding of the subject in a broader perspective and specific skills helps to execute those skills realistically. Literature is the field which correlates these two things because before publishing any book, the author takes into consideration the background, the culture and the common themes prevailing in that particular place, economy or nation as a whole. By reading literature, one can relate critical thinking with the skills he or she has acquired.

Hao Opinion: I think go to college is more important than acquire marketable skills. When we study in college, we can also learn marketable skills and we can find a better job from the school resources.

Jingyun opinion:I think that the marketable skill and think critically are both important. Because those two actions are relative. You can do good marketable skill from thinking critically because during the critical thinking, you can get the idea from different opinions.

According to Michael Martinez and Miguel Marquez’s article named “ What’s the Difference between Immigrant and Refugee?”(2014), the immigrant is different from the refugee. An immigrant is someone that choose another country to live in. Some immigrants are legal, but some of immigrants are undocumented and this kind of illegal immigrants up to 11 million. Many people want to immigrate to other countries because they want their children or themselves have a good future development. However, “A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee his or her home country”(p.217). Some refugees can’t get home country because of some reasons like wars and natural disasters. And America also published laws to protect their benefits. For example, the law will give the children who come to the country a full immigration hearing instead of sending back. Meanwhile, with immigrants coming to the U.S. They or their children will have opportunities to accept education.
