The presentation how the condition of 2nd generation of East-Asian American. Because of language difference, she and her mother cannot communicate as she grows up. She said lots of immigration family lose their language. She thinks they lose language because the U.S. has laws and culture that limit people to use English only. Moreover, the Asian look makes other refuse to admit they are American. She uses visual argument to lead the idea and illustrate her idea, which build pathos. Also, she quote the Proposition, which build ethos.  I do not think she has a counter argument. Her argument is very convincing because she use data and example to illustrate the scene. I like her presentation and I will give a 10/10.

I think my essay still need to work on improving APA format since I have some mistake on that.  Also,  I need some smooth transaction in my essay. I may lost concentration on my thesis sometimes. Sometimes I may find some good supporting ideas to support.  Maybe I should focus on my thesis more.

After reading the essay and the example of Candice and Katie,  we all find we need a clear topic that we can focus on. Also , using multimodel  to create a video essay is not as simple as writing a paper work. By making them in an ordinary way, we need work on organizing things harder than we do writing.  Sometimes, a video can only show the audience something not very deep. So we have to make the central idea more deeper and show that to audience.

Gently, I am gone,
As I gently came;
I gently waved,
Be a cloud of the West.

The golden willow on the river,
Is the bride in the sunset;
The shadow of the waves,
In my heart.

Green barley on the mud,
The oil is swayed under the water;
In the soft wave of Kanghe,
I am willing to make a water grass!

a pool under the shade,
Not a clear spring, it is a rainbow in the sky;
Crushed between the floating algae,
A rainbow-like dream is deposited.

Looking for a dream? Support a long scorpion,
Trace back to the green grass;
Full of a boat,
Put a song in the starburst.

But I can't sing,
Quietly, it’s awkward;
Summer insects are also silent for me.
Silence is Cambridge tonight!

Quietly, I am gone,
As I came quietly;
I waved my sleeves.
Do not take a cloud.

It should be by the river instead of on the river.
Oil is incorrect, as it is a adjective there.

And below is the English version by the author himself:

Very quietly I take my leave
As quietly as I came here;
Quietly I wave good-bye
To the rosy clouds in the western sky.
The golden willows by the riverside
Are young brides in the setting sun;
Their reflections on the shimmering waves
Always linger in the depth of my heart.
The floating heart growing in the sludge
Sways leisurely under the water;
In the gentle waves of Cambridge
I would be a water plant!
That pool under the shade of elm trees
Holds not water but the rainbow from the sky;
Shattered to pieces among the duckweeds
Is the sediment of a rainbow-like dream.
To seek a dream? Just to pole a boat upstream
To where the green grass is more verdant;
Or to have the boat fully loaded with starlight
And sing aloud in the splendor of starlight.
But I cannot sing aloud
Quietness is my farewell music;
Even summer insects heap silence for me
Silent is Cambridge tonight!
Very quietly I take my leave
As quietly as I came here;
Gently I flick my sleeves
Not even a wisp of cloud will I bring away

For Buhler, language is a medium (or ‘organon’ as he calls it) that serves, simultaneously, three different but internally related communicative functions.Introduction

language is the key point of communication. Communication plays different role to different audience. It is not easily just send information to each other but also  cause emotional or behavioral  reactions.
