Individual Writing April 27

Race is a social construct because of how people are treated differently based on the color of their skin. It is obviously natural to be a different race than someone else but it is the unequal treatment that makes it a social construct. There has been racism in areas such as education where black people are excluded or rarely included in education. Anthony Jack explains that just giving access is not the same thing as inclusion. He explains how those who come from lower income families are not familiar with how different a private school is from a public one and they are not educated on that such difference. Racism in education has been a long standing problem and it is sad to see how it continues today and how little is done to prevent it in the future.
