Dons' Doings: Alumni Speaker Night and LPH Graduation Celebration, Monday 4/18!

This coming Monday at 7:00 pm in Xavier (inside Fromm Hall) we are having our 6th Annual Alumni Speaker Night and Graduation Celebration!  The event is open to all Communication Studies majors.  Each year we ask an alum from our department to come back to campus and address our students.  This year we are lucky to have 2007 graduate Amanda Anderson join us as our speaker.  Read on for more information about Amanda!

2007 Graduate and 2011 Alumni Speaker Amanda Anderson

Amanda is currently an Account Director at Premier Staffing in their Administrative division.  Yes!  Basically, Amanda’s job is to help other people find jobs.  So clearly, it is going to be very helpful to hear from her!  Amanda originally joined Premier last April as an Associate to their Sales Division team but was then promoted to an Account Director.  She specializes in placing Administrative and HR candidates in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Finance, Technology, Biotech, Creative Firms, Architecture, and Startup Environments.  Prior to joining Premier, Amanda worked as a Participant Representative for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  Within that role, she was able to quickly recognize her strength in recruiting and decided to utilize these skills within Premier.  She is a bay area local, growing up in Marin County.

Did you notice the very long title for the event?  Alumni Speaker Night and Graduation Celebration?  In addition to hearing from Amanda, we will be recognizing our graduating Lambda Pi Eta members with a special ceremony.  Doesn’t that line “special ceremony” make you curious?  To find out what happens, you have to join us!

You will have the chance to ask Amanda questions about her life after graduation and her current position.  We hope to see you at the event on Monday in Xavier (inside Fromm Hall) at 7:00 pm!
