I have no idea what I should write about. Does it have to be something serious or can if just be something simple. The examples that are given on the proposal are things on campus like parking issue. Thing only thing that come to mind that might be reasonable to use is like climate rate issues, maybe like the increasing rate of homeless people. For me I find those issues to be pretty easy to talk about and something that is interesting to learn. For me at least I only know a little bit of whats going on in those situation, which I would find interesting to learn more about. Im guessing since I don’t know as much im pretty sure lot of people have at least some understanding of these types of situations not a lot. But being able to use these issues for the proposal essay would be a good idea, since it touches on issues that many people know a little bit about.
outline:
Intro: introduce the issues on the increase on homeless rate
body 1: how has the homeless issue came to be
body 2: how in the past the government has tried to fix that issue
housing cost
body 3: why did their project not succeed
body 4: propsal to the issue (things that the government hasn’t done)
Conclusion: why my proposal should be consider and how it can help
Then write a brief reflection (in 2-3 short paragraphs) as to how her interview helps you understand her ideas in the essay in terms of her use of language and grandma’s story of relationships and belonging in “Monologue: Grandma Wong’s New Year Blessings.”
After watching Marilyn Chin’s interview i think that it gives an understanding on her ideas in the uses of language and her grandma’s story of relationships and belonging in “Monologue: Grandma Wong’s New Year Blessings.” In the interview they touched a little bit on where Chin grew up. Which she lightly touches on the fact that she was born in China and moved to the states because of her father. Upon introducing this she mentions that she speaks three different language, which I think gives us a better understand to why the use of language is so important to her. Being that majority of her family didn’t speak English she in a sense would be their personal translators. As the interview goes on we are also introduced to her relationship with her grandmother.
She explains that upon arriving to the states her grandmother was not literate that she had a grate memory and would sing poems from Hong Kong to her as a kid. Which is how she feel in love with poetry, allowing her to what to purpose this career. Which shows the audience where her love for poems and also to in a sense always incorporate her roots in every piece of work she does.
