September 24: MLA and APA

Similarities:

  • They mention the authors names and page numbers
  • both give the url to the website/page
  • All contributors and the title of the piece is listed

Differences:

  • APA mentions the year it was published (need it)
  • APA is numbered from the first page without interruption
  • APA contains an abstract
  • Abstracts do not contain citations of other works
  • MLA contains numbers that direct you to a numbered list of notes
  • MLA tends to write out every contributor’s name
