I read Adriana Brown’s response. She spoke about how the reading connected to her on a personal level. Adriana is Black and Salvadoran and went to a predominantly Black institution. She said in her response that there were certain aspects of her culture that she was not shown in her household. She writes about how there are many parallels between Nguyen and herself as Nguyen battled internal conflicts like Adriana did. This response differs as I, of course, do not have the same experiences as Adriana. My response was more of a synopsis that was impersonal in comparison. I have had identity issues but this is because most Latino people are already multiethnic. My culture is the culmination of colonization and intermingling; my culture is hybridized already.
