The past two assignments I have done on housing and urban development. For this last assignment, I want to switch it up and do something else. I want to address an issue that is a little closer to school; perhaps something about campus that can be changed. I have no idea what I’m going to do for the assignment but I know that I might want to use the adobe software we used for our first assignment. It’s very easy to record my voice, integrate visuals, text, etc. I perhaps can point to the lack of school spirit on campus and how we should have more events to boost morale and participation. I also think that campus isn’t always the most fun to hangout on. There should be more placers of leisure or something to that effect. Campus just doesn’t seem like a lively place and that is sort of upsetting. We should promote more unity and maybe more socializing, allowing people to meet others in a fun, not-forced way. I can talk about how not many people are at the sporting events despite our teams doing well or I can talk about how many people don’t regard this school as a good learning institution. USF is not a commuter-school, it is not a bad school in any regard. We should be proud that we go to such an amazing, storied institution.
Outline For Argumentative Speech
- I want to use my camera to take pictures of the beautiful campus and area to show that we go to an amazing school
- I want to talk about how school is dead (the campus)
- I want to talk about how there aren’t many places to relax on campus and have fun as opposed to places like UC Berkeley
- I feel that if there was more school spirit and a more lively social scene then it would entice people to want to come to our school to both visit and attend.
- If we start creating a better environment, production goes up, happiness goes up, the school character, prestige, etc. goes up.
- If more people want to go here and apply then the acceptance rate goes down which means that the school becomes better all around.
