Service Updates
To keep up to date on any library service changes, check out the periodic updates on our library webpage. Information about how to access the library can be found on our building access page. Though Gleeson Library is currently open for USF community members to browse our collections, check-out, and pick up materials at the Circulation Desk, we are still shipping Gleeson Library materials, Link + materials, and interlibrary loan (ILL) materials to eligible USF community members at their home address if needed. Shipping is free and includes pre-paid shipping labels for returning materials back to the library. Eligibility information and instructions on how to request home delivery is on our document delivery page.
All requested physical Interlibrary Loan materials are held at the Circulation Desk for pickup at the library; these materials will no longer be automatically processed for home delivery. Please contact ill@usfca.edu if you wish to continue having ILL items shipped to your home address. Link+ requesting is available for physical materials, which includes print books and DVDs. When requesting a Link+ item, you can select either “Gleeson Circ-Desk” for in person pick-up, or “Mail to Home Address” if you prefer to have Link+ materials shipped to you.
This semester, physical Course Reserves have resumed! Students, you may check out up to two Course Reserves at a time with a valid USF ID at the Circulation Desk. Faculty, you can place materials on Course Reserves by submitting a request form. Course Reserves are fair use, which makes course materials as accessible and inclusive as possible for students. With textbook costs on the rise, we encourage all faculty to utilize this library service to benefit your students. Contact gleesonreserves@usfca.edu or (415) 422-6908 with any questions about Course Reserves.
Research Tips
We are here to help! There are plenty of different ways to utilize the library to help you with your research. The Ask a Librarian chat service is available 24/7 for any questions you may have, and you can also schedule a time to meet with a librarian for more in-depth research help.
In addition, we have Library Liaisons paired to specific academic programs who have created Research Guides to get you started on your research. Don’t forget! Citations are an important part of the research process. We have a Citation Guide to walk you through any citation help you may need. Students, check out our Youtube Channel for more quick library tips, and reserve a study room if you need a quiet place to study and do research. Faculty, check out our Faculty Resources for more information on how the library can best support you.
