The Outreach Team at Gleeson Library is excited to welcome students and faculty back to campus for the 2022-23 school year! We are happy to present to you our Outreach Statement of Purpose:
“The purpose of outreach activities is to serve the students, faculty, librarians and the greater community with the use of library resources. We believe that education and growth can be engaging, challenging, empowering and fun and we seek to appeal to the whole person in all stakeholders. We believe that nurturing relationships and partnerships with individuals and groups is the key to community building and the ways of the JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion). We believe the library is uniquely placed to be a driver of contemplation and growth and a priceless resource of knowledge, be it our physical and electronic materials or our library workers.”
In the 2022-23 academic year, Gleeson is committed to increasing the number of student-driven displays in library spaces and we invite student-led groups and faculty members to either contact their library liaison to coordinate or fill out the Outreach Services Request Form to collaborate directly with our team. Faculty members have a productive history of building class displays at Gleeson into their curricula. Faculty can find more information on adding a display to curricula by contacting their library liaison. Students and student-led groups are encouraged to fill out the Outreach Services Request Form.
Gleeson is your library and we want to represent your voices and interests! We are eager to assist you in finding the best we have to offer in support of your intellectual curiosities and passions.
