We are excited to announce the launch of our new centralized service for all your library needs – the Library Help Desk! Beginning July 8th, 2024, this initiative aims to streamline and enhance your experience when seeking assistance with research, accessing library resources, and more.
What is the Library Help Desk?
The Library Help Desk consolidates many of the library services you rely on into a single, easily accessible point of contact. Whether you need to check out a book, have questions about course reserves, or you need help finding scholarly articles, using library databases, or accessing a specific library resource, the knowledgeable staff and librarians at the Library Help Desk are here to assist you.
Where is the Library Help Desk?
The Library Help Desk is the first service desk when you enter the library. If you’ve ever checked out a book from Gleeson Library, you’ve visited the Library Help Desk!
How will this work?
You’ll notice very little change in how you access services at Gleeson– the primary change is you no longer need to visit a different desk if you need reference help. The student worker or Access Services staff person at the Library Help Desk will be the first person you interact with, and, if needed, they’ll connect you with a reference librarian or direct you to where you need to go.
Hours of Operation
The Library Help Desk will have the same service hours as the library. Reference librarians will be available for in-person assistance during reference desk hours. In addition to in-person assistance at the Library Help Desk, librarians will continue to offer our very popular and helpful 24/7 Instant Message Service and one-on-one appointments.
We look forward to seeing you at the Library Help Desk!
