Gleeson Library will transition to new and improved user interfaces (UIs) for Fusion and all EBSCOhost databases on Monday, June 16, 2025.
If you would like to see the changes before the switchover, check out the new Fusion interface! Because EBSCO is continuously adding new functionality, you may notice new features as you continue to use the new interface.
The updated interfaces will offer access to the same content, but they will feature several new enhancements, including:
- Look and Feel — A simpler, more intuitive, and modern design.
- Dashboard — A new and improved user dashboard for saving articles, searches, alerts, etc.
- Permalinks — Easily create permalinks by copying the URL from your browser’s address bar.
- Filters — New “sticky” filters will remain applied throughout your search session until you choose to clear them.
- Accessibility — Enhanced accessibility features include text-to-speech for HTML and PDF articles, video transcripts, and improved navigation with screen reader support.
What action do I need to take?
If you have saved items in your folders in the current, classic EBSCOhost interface, some items will automatically migrate to your dashboard in the new interfaces. Certain content, however, such as search and journal alerts, persistent search links, and items in custom or shared folders, will not transfer over. If applicable, be sure to perform the following tasks before June 16:
What to expect?
- Automatic Switchover — The transition to the new interfaces will happen automatically. We do not anticipate any interruptions in access to Fusion or EBSCOhost databases before, during, or after the switch.
- Access to Classic Interfaces Ends — After June 16, access to Fusion and all other EBSCOhost databases in the current, classic interface will no longer be available.
- Permalinks Remain Active — Permalinks created in the classic interface, including links embedded in Canvas, will continue to work in the new interfaces. Likewise, any permalinks generated in the new interfaces will continue to work after the migration on June 16.
What databases are impacted?
