Join us on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in the Donohue Rare Book Room for the opening celebration of the Spring 2025 exhibition, organized by students in the University of San Francisco’s Art 200: Museum Studies course.
This exhibition showcases a powerful selection of materials from Gleeson Library’s Special Collections & University Archives. Through rare books, pamphlets, posters, and ephemera, the exhibition explores the enduring influence of activists who have sparked resistance and demanded change. The exhibition invites the USF community to reflect on acts of resistance across politics, publishing, and poetry, and to draw inspiration from the voices of those who dared to speak out.
The exhibition was organized by Lee Arucan, Sarah Brooks, Catherine Bryson, Hannah Chung, Xandra Enache, Christina Ford, Alice Hanks, Danae Heald, Anya Jordan, Leila Major, Imaan Safi-Eddine, and Samantha Zrodlo, with special thanks to Professor Karen Fraser and John Hawk, Head Librarian, Donohue Rare Book Room.
“Power of the People: Politics, Publishing, and Poetry as Modes of Resistance” will be on view from May 2 – May 30, 2025 in Gleeson Library’s Donohue Rare Book Room. The Donohue Rare Book Room is open Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. View all Special Collections & University Archives hours.
This event is open to all USF community members.
