Gleeson Library transitioned to new and improved user interfaces (UIs) for Fusion and all EBSCOhost databases on June 16, 2025. This update affects frequently-used library databases such as APA PsycInfo, Business Source Complete, CINAHL Ultimate, and SocINDEX with Full Text, among many others.
The updated interfaces provide access to the same content as EBSCOhost Classic, but feature several new enhancements, including:
- Look and Feel — A simpler, more intuitive, and modern design.
- Dashboard — A new and improved personalized user dashboard for saving articles, searches, alerts, etc.
- Filters — An updated, user-friendly filter panel, along with new “sticky” filters that remain active throughout your search session until you choose to clear them.
- Permalinks — Easily create permalinks by copying the URL from your browser’s address bar.
- Accessibility — Enhanced accessibility features include text-to-speech for HTML and PDF articles, video transcripts, and improved navigation with screen reader support.
Important Notes for Users
- Permalinks Remain Active — Permalinks created in the classic interface, including links embedded in Canvas, will continue to work in the new interfaces. Likewise, any permalinks generated in the new interfaces will continue to work after the migration on June 16.
- Saved Content — Most content saved in your EBSCO My Folder in the Classic interfaces automatically transferred to your dashboard in the new interfaces. Certain content, however, such as search and journal alerts, persistent search links, and items in custom or shared folders, did not transfer.
- Export Saved Content — Users who did not save this content prior to the June migration can download a report listing these items. This download option will be available until December 31, 2025.
- Recreate Saved Content — Once the report has been downloaded, you will need to recreate this saved content in your Projects folder. The report may also include search alerts and/or journal alerts that will need to be recreated.
