Earlier this week, Gleeson Library | Geschke Center staff gathered to celebrate the achievements of our student workers who are graduating from their time at USF and our library. Amidst all of the uncertainty of this past semester and the transition to remote learning/work, we were excited to acknowledge and commemorate all of the achievements and dedication our student assistants have brought to Gleeson Library. Our student workers have done so much for us over the years, and we are so grateful, proud, and honored to have worked alongside them.
While we couldn’t have our customary end of semester pizza party together, we still celebrated with a ceremony including a virtual presentation of stoles, speeches, photos, and excellent music. Each student worker also chose a book from our library collections that was meaningful to them; those books will eventually include a special bookplate in the front cover, honoring their time here.
We are so thankful that they have chosen to spend some of their time at USF with us, and Gleeson Library would truly not be the same without their presence. We will miss them all so much, but we know they are going to have a positive impact in everything they set out to do. Congrats class of 2020!
We have included a recording of the virtual celebration for those who were unable to attend.
