In the New York Times Article Can Riots Force Change?, by Frank Bruni, Michelle Goldberg, and Ross Douthat, Douthat argues against the effectiveness of the recent riots and believes that they are detrimental to the cause itself, while Bruni believes that it can be hard to tell whether the rioters have good intentions or just enjoy the destruction.   This article discusses whether riots are a good or bad form of protest, with both sides having contradicting ideas. This Rogerian argument has not reached a conclusion, as there are still riots going on today.
