ANYONE LOOKING TO HELP

I wanted to post more things that are actual resources for people who are looking to help the homeless population during this time.

I know that coronavirus has limited access for these individuals even more than it was before, this drastically can impact the stability and consistency of finding meals. I figured that a good place to start helping out would be donation based. Specifically donations towards a food bank. The following link is to the local San Francisco food bank. They have continued their fight despite coronavirus and need help now more than ever! Some of the efforts that they have been doing involve pop up food banks and pantries. If you feel like you want to donate financially to the cause then follow the link below.

California Housing the Homeless!

In an effort to help fight against the coronavirus within the homeless population, the California government is actually renting out hotel rooms for homeless individuals. This is part of an effort to move people out of crowded shelters and off the streets. It has been dubbed project room key. This effort and initiative has acquired more than 16,000 hotel rooms across California in order to help the homeless population. With these efforts they are hoping to prevent spikes of infection within the California homeless population.

If you are interested in reading more on this effort made by governor Newsome you can find two links below. One is a news article that discusses this further and talks about the progress of the initiative. The second link is a post detailing project room key that was made on CA.gov informing of some of the goals and information related to the project.

Recommended Protocol for Individuals Experiencing Homelessness During Covid 19

This is just a little pdf that was published by the California state government and the California department of public health. It pretty much details the steps someone should take if they are experiencing homelessness during this period of the COVID 19 pandemic.

The Funding is Finally Coming!!

This article details and breaks down the corona relief package that was agreed upon by congress. It goes through a detailed summary of the various efforts that are going to be funded to help the homeless population as well as a breakdown of where the money is going. While the aid allocated to the homeless population is limited and regulated in terms of how it can be used, It is at least a start. If you are interested in understanding more about how these funds are being used and allocated, click the link below!
