August 30: in class writing

I have still not received the book yet but from reading what other have to say, I do confirm the idea that immigrants should not be treated unequal in terms of grace and statues. Though I believe immigrants should be held to a high standard and be treated differently so. To stive for what they can be and remember what they could be. I would hope that immigrants take pride of the opportunity that surrounds them and in a way, hit the ground running.

As Shirley stated in her blog post, a country needs it’s own culture and heritage. Which of course has been built on the backs on immigrants dating back from when then Eurpeon colonists came to what would be the United States. Different cultures but the same pride and beliefs of this country is what make diversity very important.
