After reading Divinity’s response, the key idea I took away was how living in different parts of the world can have major impacts on things like education and access/awareness of technology. She shared the educational difficulties and differences of both Pengfei and Dipo, which really contrasted the way we (in America) have experienced education. I think we both have similar ideas and thoughts after reading the essay. But in terms of the writing, I think it was pretty different. I interpreted the response in a different way, more so about the writing and the forma rather than the essay’s content.
Reading her response, just like she mentioned in her own, reminded me of how grateful I am to have the education that I do. I didn’t have to fight or risk my safety for it, but I’m just here receiving it every day. Especially after reading Pengfei and Dipo’s stories, I will do my best to not take these opportunities for granted and express my appreciation for those who’ve helped me to get to this position. As for the format of her response, she followed the format. She included a proper introduction, key idea(s), and a few examples. Then in the second paragraph she shared her own thoughts and points of view in relation to the essay.
