San Jose (37.4121-121.9603)

I recently moved back home with my mom and sisters, so my walk was just around our apartment complex. It was about sixty degrees, but very very windy. My apartment complex is located right next to the Guadalupe River, so we have a lot of vegetation around my complex. On my walk, I came across very few signs of spring. After living here for almost eight years, I’ve gotten used to the change in season and have been able to tell when the season is changing. As of right now, the only sign of spring are the flowers that have been recently planted.

On my walk, I also noticed several types of leaves. I noticed several different types of bushes with different types of leaves. Some were long and thin, some were glossy and thick, some were large with many ends. These leaves are all different in response to predators or to the climate. I was unable to identify what these shrubs were, but if I did, we’d know why each leaf is the way that it is.
