As the year comes to a close, we’re excited to share the McCarthy Center’s Annual Impact Report for 2021, highlighting the work we were able to accomplish in the last year — thanks to your generous support.

Dear McCarthy Center Friends and Supporters,

These last 20 months have taught us to adapt quickly to unanticipated challenges and 2021 was certainly full of them. This past year, Team Leo pulled together with a committed roster of students, faculty and staff across the university to collaborate with partners and co-educators in creating a record year of community-engaged learning opportunities and successes stories.

Our Annual Impact Report illustrates a number of ways that generous support helped to make a positive impact on students, community partners and the individuals, families and children they serve.

• 4,226 hours of literacy tutoring were offered to K-5 children in schools and partner sites in the Fillmore District / Western Addition
• 220 USFVotes student ambassadors surpassed the 17,500 mark for registered voters last year
• 90 community leaders, policy-makers, and guest speakers worked with students on and off campus, sharing their expertise as co-educators
