Jordan and I on our Tandem Bicycle!
Monday, September 25th, 2017
Today was one of my favorite classes to date because Jordan and I got to ride a Tandem Bicycle for the first time! Not only was it a great adventure, but it was a physical and mental challenge to get through Golden Gate Park together. Looking from a distance, using a Tandem Bicycle looked really easy, but it is definitely harder than it looks. It was funny because my mom has actually rode on a Tandem Bicycle through Golden Gate Bridge with her friend, while she was in San Francisco, and said it was really easy and loads of fun, so I was up for the challenge. After Jordan and I got on the bike for the first time, we almost fell off and it took us a few tries to get our balance down and be able to travel with the bicycle. We figured out how to balance, time our “load-ons” and “load-offs,” learned how to steer, and strategized the best ways to pedal in sync to get the most power. I have to admit that we did crash land once, in the grass (Thank you Jesus!) but this made us more aware for sure and more determined to travel as fast as the class on our Tandem Bicycle. I would really recommend trying a Tandem Bicycle to anyone who is interested, and even to people who don’t find it interesting because it is a really great experience! While in San Francisco especially, this is a must, but it makes bicycling easier, especially up those hills! This is an experience that not many people I know have gotten to try, and I am so happy and grateful to say I was able to ride one in my lifetime so far! I hope to use the Tandem Bicycle again in the future and go adventuring around the world!
