The Spring semester is well underway in USF MSEM, with first-year students delving into concentrations and electives, while final-semester students are undertaking their applied research projects. MSEM has a rich mix of courses in Spring 2023, ranging from Marine Resources to Stream and Riparian Ecology, Climate Change Mitigation to The Future of Sustainability Management, Introductory GIS to Advanced Data Analysis, Environmental Risk Assessment to Master’s Projects.

MSEM is delighted to welcome new instructors to the program. Cam Denney, a spatial data scientist with the World Health Organization, joins the USF Geospatial Analysis Lab (GsAL) to teach Introductory GIS. MSEM alumnus Xavier Melanson-Fernandez, an Environmental Program Manager with the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board, returns to the Hilltop to teach Environmental Risk Assessment.

Throughout the Spring semester, we’ll be sharing highlights of our students and alumni, courses and faculty, events and developments in the field. Now we are in the midst of recruiting our Fall 2023 cohort of environmental managers. The priority application deadline for merit scholarships and the Dean’s Fellowship is February 15th; more info can be found here.
