Hello my fellow PSIPer’s,
My name is Zhihao and right now I’m a sophomore student majoring in Finance through the business school of University of San Francisco. I am currently working as a marketing intern for Homeownership SF. My major is finance, while I’m currently working in market position. That might make no any sense for some of people who think my current job is relatively pointless with my major，while I would certainly argue with the opposite. I set upon myself by studying finance because I think the finance field has already played a very important role in the business world and even in the future this field would still be important as today. So I consider finance not as a direction for me to set up my career but it would be a basic skill for me to learn in order to struggle in future business world. This idea makes me have the passion to try any business position that I might gain some experience from it. Working in a non-profit organization helps me get access to the basic recognition of the business world.
About Organization- Homeownership SF
A citywide collaboration of experienced, nonprofit homeownership service providers, HomeownershipSF serves as a centralized resource for affordable homeownership opportunities and foreclosure intervention education/counseling in San Francisco.
- HomeownershipSF makes the home buying process easier for first-time homebuyers by combining information on special assistance programs, workshops, one-on-one counseling and affordable homes and loans on its website – in one convenient online location. With easy access to this high-quality information, HomeownershipSF helps diverse and underserved households buy affordable homes in San Francisco.
- HomeownershipSF, in partnership with its HUD approved member agencies and other community partners, coordinates and facilitates workshops for distressed homeowners in San Francisco with panels of professionals that offer guidance in avoiding foreclosure. Additionally, it provides free counseling services through its member agencies and educational materials/links to local and national resources on its website. These services are provided to help homeowners know their options and take action, while stressing the importance of avoiding potential scam artists.
Work Plan (Assigned projects)
1. HomeownershipSF will host and be represented at the 2013 San Francisco Housing Expo. To prepare for this event we will:
- Help by reaching out to the communities that need this organization’s services.
- Promote the organization’s services by posting flyers in these areas and speaking to businesses and communities.
- Attend and participate one outreach day

3. Help Executive Director with special projects
