My name is Rae Norton and I use she/her pronouns. This is the first semester of my freshman year and I’m an undeclared liberal arts major. I grew up in the suburbs around LA in the city of South Pasadena, it’s a really popular filming location and has been in a lot of shows and movies. I’m a leo sun, gemini moon, and capricorn rising. I really like to read and try to go through as many books as I can to keep myself thinking even when I’m not in classes.

I’ve done a lot of writing throughout my academic experience. English has always been my favorite subject and I’ve always found essay writing to be one of my greater skills in school. I prefer formal essays over colloquial writing and enjoy argumentative pieces, especially when the subject is something I feel strongly about. I love inserting my research into an essay and using it to support ideas and opinions I have. Research is enjoyable for me because I try to absorb as much information as possible and genuinely look forward to expanding my knowledge on the subject.

I tend to struggle a lot with essay writing structure. Although I love writing I often do it without structure, which leaves me overwhelmed. I don’t have much experience with the pre-writing process and am very excited to learn how to organize my thoughts before I begin a draft. I’m looking forward to learning more about the writing process and expanding my skills.
