David Byrne is a marvelous artist in the way his stories are so descriptive and make you feel apart of the things he learns and experiences while he is on travel. I gravitated to the way Byrne talked about his knowledge of the dot-com boom and the development of it in the city of Cupertino. The dot-com booms that took place in Cupertino were revolutionary in moving life online. This is where ambitious technological hippies started small, thought out of the box, and created the very first computers. I find this research on the Cupertino start up extremely interesting in the way that this start of technology changed the lives of many in the way the internet works and connect our everyday activities into it. His travels to Istanbul and his experience with the Alternif Festival was something that I also found quite interesting. He connected his music life with promoting the arts and music in culture in other countries like Istanbul. He made clear of the strong importance that this type of culture held is alive in communities. David Byrne is an amazing authors and uses all of his experiences he has had on travels with his bicycle to share with his readers.
