What Did You See:

Family: Fabaceae

Genus and Species: Lupinus bicolor

Common Name: Lupine

Description: This plant is pubescent and annual. It usually flowers during the months of March to June. The petiole can vary from 1 – 7 cm. The inflorescence is usually whorled. Petals are usually, banner spot is white and sometimes magenta.

 

 

Family: Caryophyllaceae

Genus and Species: Minuartia douglasii

Common Name: Douglas’ sandwort

Description: Stem is erect to spreading. The leaf is wide, thread-like, becoming curled, flexible, and evenly spaced. It can be found rocky, sandy slopes, flats in chaparral, oak and pine woodland.

Family: Brassicaceae

Genus and Species: Erysimum franciscanum

Common Name: Franciscan wallflower

Description: The base of the is woody. The leaves olanceolate to oblanceolate-linear to flat and can be hairy. The fruit that this plant has is flat parallel to septum and not constricted between seeds.

 

What Did You Do: This is was the site of our field quiz and honestly, wow. That’s why my title says that I got five wrong even when I got more than five wrong. The view at the end was probably the best so far. Truly, this quiz crushed my soul.
