January 31 : Reading Response Discussion

Buttulga’s reading response. One thing I think we have in common in this paragraph is that some of the facts that individuals have are more valid than arguments. So we both agree that some examples from our lives are more convincing than long-winded arguments from experts. The idea of factual arguments is very similar to the “polite argument” people I mentioned. Because generally, such people use their intelligence to argue. Usually, the argument is based on their own personal experience. So it is more convincing.

In Elizabeth Herz’s article “Why Funny Animal Videos are Good for You” Buttulga does a good job of explaining what techniques the author is using to make her argument. I think it is very similar to my article. Because we are both directly stating what the author is trying to achieve.
