Nov 30- argumentative speech

I can talk about how teachers should make learning not stressful. Many classes that go at a fast past, assign a lot of assignments, and complicated textbook readings make students stressed which effects their learning. Stressful work like this can be traumatizing and study show that our bodies forget traumatizing things that happen to us as a survival technique.

I believe the right to vote as a women is one of the most important historical event that has positively shaped the future for my country and people because it started the progress of equality between genders. Even though we have sexism today, having the right to vote has helped shape the progress of having a country that benefits both genders. When the process began many women stood up to men an even their husbands which was very rare at the time. These brave women created many peaceful protests which caused awareness of the lack of rights women had at the time. Women were being arrested and attacked verbally and physically by people for speaking out about wanting to vote. This historic event started a new beginning for women in the united states and with out the effort of these women in 1920 I wouldn’t have the rights I have today.

It’s relevant to today because currently many people are arguing the right to have an abortion. As a women it’s important to have a vote on topics like this because men aren’t effected by abortions. If men were the only ones able to vote today many of my rights would be taken away, such as the right to have an abortion. In 2020 I’m happy I can make the decision for my own body and not males.

I looked at Henry’s responds, he was writing about the same thing I was but he went more in detail. When writing I tend to not know how to explain the topic very well but henry did pretty well with this. He also brought in personal experience, while I lacked in relating this to be personal life. He brought in examples from the book would made it more clear how to effectively get across to the audience with a presentation.

Emily Schwab,

Emilys readers response gave more detail and explained the writing more, where I summarized the writing. She then goes to explain that she doesn’t related to this writng because she is not multiethnic, but she can use this information for her own life by becoming more aware of people that deal with this.

When looking at Emily’s writing it showed me how I can improve my own writing by getting more in detail with using quotes

I read Ruby Gilles readers response and found that we got the mail idea that the story should the difference in the cultures in each home. We also found that the story being told in broken english made us feel like we were there.

This writing was different from a traditional essay because the language wasn’t perfect. Usually when writing we are focused on our grammar and if we are understandable. Making the story be told in a voice of someone that doesn’t speak english perfectly actually helps the reader be more involved into the story in this writing.

OCT 19 In class

In class I had Emily Schwab and Sahara Estinto for peer review. Emily gave a clear understanding of the purpose visual rhetoric using pathos, logos, and ethos and then adding in a personal life experience. Sahara explained visual rhetoric good as well, but she more focused on emotions and how visuals can effect them, by providing examples from the writing.

I liked how Emily brought in personal experience in her writing and  want to do that for my own writing.

Ethos with Cardi B’s instagram. Cardi B discusses many issues within her instagram page, mostly with political issues and racial issues. Cardi B can create an ethos for herself because she has experience with being in lower class and very high class, this creates a wide variety of mind sets on political views from communicating with these people and living the lifestyles herself. This experience is important because with political issues the rich and the poor are divided. She has been able to talk to running presidents to get information on live to help her audience to get information. She is a person of color which creates credibility for why people should listen to her speak when she’s talking about racial issues because she has personal experience and knowledge.

In this article “Do’s and Don’ts of crystals healing”, this article answers questions people might have about crystals. Crystals absorb and extract energy and can be used to heal people spiritually, this means the crystals need to be cared for and cleanse to give good energy for people to heal. the article advised  “If a sick person is using it, then the crystal should be cleaned after every 3-4 days. But if you have larger crystals in your home then you can clean them once in a week or a month.”. This is important to cleanse crystals but they way you clean them depend on who you are and what type of crystal it is.
