In the article “Bench press training program with attached chains for female volleyball and basketball athletes”, Timothy R. Burnham and his team ran some tests and concluded that “Strength training with attached chains is a common practice in the strength and conditioning arena and anecdotal claims from proponents suggest greater increases in strength with this technique” (p. 67).
