John Carroll University was privileged to host the 31st annual AJCU CITM Conference May 22-25, 2016. Previously, John Carroll hosted the 9th conference in 1994.
The event brought together some 85 attendees representing 25 of the 28 U.S. Jesuit universities and one of the Latin American Jesuit universities to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and to present opportunities to discuss collaboration and challenges in Jesuit higher education.
The conference kicked off with keynote speaker Bryan Alexander who talked about higher education futures and the role IT can play in this future. On the second day, Fr. Rick Malloy, S.J. from the University of Scranton joined the conference and shared a Jesuit perspective on how IT can lead the Jesuit institutions to integrate more technology into teaching and learning.
From the illuminating conference sessions to the conference dinner at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the conference shaped up to be an excellent opportunity for networking with Jesuit colleagues. Everyone left the meeting inspired to return to their home schools with great ideas for the coming year.
