Join us for a Zine Making Workshop!
Thursday 9/13/2018 11:00-2:00 Gleeson Library second floor
Come when you can but only leave when you absolutely have to.
Zines are short-run, independently published magazines on a variety of subjects. Common themes include art, comics, poetry, short stories, memoirs, cultural criticism, and social commentary. Zines are an important medium for self-expression in our culture. They can give voice to those whose voices have been marginalized and start conversations on topics that are not in the mainstream. They can also just be a lot of fun to make.
The Gleeson Zine Library is a small collection of zines that circulate to the University of San Francisco community. We have open zine making workshops and have had teachers bring in their classes. Students can contribute their work making the Gleeson Zine Library a reflection of our community. The Gleeson Zine Library is in the large common room on the second floor of the Library.
