Happy summer to all our MSEM students! Whether you’re an incoming or continuing student looking to explore in and around San Francisco this summer, we’ve got you covered. While we hope you’re enjoying some much deserved rest, we also know many of you are looking for ways to volunteer and get involved in the community. This week we’re highlighting some upcoming opportunities you can join to get some hands-on experience and support our local environment and community.

Parks Conservancy offers a variety of outreach programs including habitat restoration, historic garden and landscape upkeep, and native plant nursery work. These opportunities are in various locations such as Marin, the Presidio of San Francisco, For Mason, and even Alcatraz! Check out more details here.

Race to Zero Waste offers a range of events and projects from public outreach to waste sorting and facilitation. These pop-ups happen all over San Francisco in iconic spots like Dolores Park, the Mission, and the Castro. Check out more details here.

City Surf Project is a one of a kind organization in San Francisco providing equitable access to the ocean. They promote environmental education for youth through the power of surfing and host a variety of events and volunteer opportunities. You can learn more and apply to be a volunteer here.

These are just a few of the amazing ways you can see the city and connect with new people. We hope to hear all about the work you do this summer!
