Who are Bike Messengers? What do they do? Who do they work for? How much money do they make? Those are the questions that I am looking to find the answers for in these research assignment.
Bike Messengers are a common thing in big cities in Los Angeles, New York, and most importantly, San Francisco. Even though there is a strong bike messenger culture in SF, not many know about them and what type of work and what kind of field they complete it in. They wait in their office and wait for a call to transport a package on their bikes from point A to point B in the city. Bike Messengers have fascinated me at a young age ever since I saw them in the streets of Los Angeles and came across a few videos on youtube. Even though I feel as that I do know a lot about their job, I would like to get out into the field and interview a messenger so I can see what their everyday life is like. I have always thought about wanting to be a bike messenger for a bit but I want to see what kind of pay they receive. I also want to interview a messenger so that I could see how dangerous and how intense work in the field can get. This interview process should go smoothly since there are a lot of bike messengers in the city. I am extremely excited for all of the new things that I will learn out of this assignment.
