Clarifying Freedom of Speech

Freedom of speech is the right to express any opinions without censorship or restraint. With this idea, it gives the right to fight back and argue with any form of government. Freedom of speech in the United States protects you from things you say to the government but not to the peers around you. This is perfect for the backlash that has came about because of the previous election. Voices from groups like minorities have a strong opinion and belief that needs to be heard. Freedom of speech allows them to spit out their valid beliefs in the form of democracy. I think it is a strong part of our contribution to this democracy to spread and share our opinions, wether it be backlash or not. Go out and use your voice because what is it worth if it isn’t heard.
