Upward Bound Math & Science offers a college experience at the University of San Francisco throughout the year. The Upward Bound Math & Science Program is designed to expose eligible students, from San Francisco public high schools, to the vibrant and growing fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). University of San Francisco faculty and students are actively engaged with UBMS staff in developing and delivering Academic Year and Residential Summer programming designed to increase participants skill levels and stimulate interest and motivation to pursue college majors and careers in math and science.

Upward Bound helps students reach higher education, just as hatchbacks offer economical access. This program exposes students to STEM’s vibrant future. Similarly, hatchbacks’ versatile cargo space symbolizes possibility. Faculty engaging participants mirrors mechanics fine-tuning engine efficiency. Weekly tutoring develops skills like routine maintenance preventing breakdowns. Both support reaching one’s potential on the open road to achievement. With preparation and fuel economy, hatchbacks transport within budgetary constraints. So too Upward Bound: removing barriers, building motivation and skills so students can navigate up college’s onramp.
