While I was looking for a large area to build my workshop, I came across Rockcliffe University Sandbox. I have been using this space for a week now. It has a 5 hour return policy and 600 prim limit which is very generous.
I haven’t been in contact with any one in this sim until today. I got to meet their Executive Administrator Tender Skytower, and got to learn more about this sim. I contacted her for permission of using their space for my final presentation as my Second Life work shop is over 600 prims. After I explained to her my project, she kindly invited me to their restricted faculty area, and gave me the permission to use their faculty space. We had a great chat about using Second Life in Education. Tender is very passionate about using virtual world in education. Currently they offer different classes both in Second Life specific subjects and “first life” related subjects. They are working on a fund raiser to raise 10,000 u.s. dollars to support a “first life” degree program, and are working through the accreditation process. They also offer two other virtual world programs other than Second Life.
