Throughout the entire class, I felt as though my presentation skills lacked voice. Regardless of the fact that I chose topics I was genuinely interested in and wanted to discuss, I know I was not as good as I could have been. When we went over ‘Youtube voice” I realized that that was the thing I was lacking in. Today while I was presenting, I noticed my voice was a bit monotone and I tried to make up for it with an assertive voice and smile. Not because I had no interest or knowledge about my topic, but because while speaking I tend to forget about Voice. Today though was interesting, because I ended up “coming out” to class on accident! I guess I didn’t catch myself while explaining my personal connection and only realized until after that I stated I’m transgender. Aside from that little extra piece of information, my presentations have been good but not great.
