Self-Reflection

I was a bit nervous before performing my presentation. But, I definitely think the practice videos and the activity we did in class beforehand was super helpful! I was more nervous about remembering my speech, then actually performing.

While I was performing I did not feel at all nervous–I think having my notecard and a presentation really helped me. Although, three minutes felt like forever!

My speech applied Horner’s ideas of credibility to the Los Angeles Bike Culture Institute. I displayed how intelligence was seen through B.C.I.’s educational workshops etc.

I think one of my favorite performances was Dina’s. She talked about an actual experience in her life–her topic was unique & interesting. Also, she had a really natural flow while she was speaking–which definitely helped.

  1. Hi Brianna! I really enjoyed your speech because you had very good voice projection and was confident. It was a great idea to have a Power Point presentation along with your speech. It was easier to see your ideas and arguments clearly with the visual aid. I really learned a lot, speech-wise and performance-wise, from your presentation. I look forward seeing more of your speeches!

  2. Brianna, thanks for this. I knew you were pretty confident going into this presentation — at least in terms of confidence in your style of delivery. Some people might have coasted on that, but you put in some time to investigate and share something about LA, and I thought was was helpful. I had not heard of the commute train idea — it seems like a good one. Do you think you would like to continue talking about LA in future presentations?
