Top 10 things I’m looking forward to as a teacher

  1. Engaging with my students and getting to know them.

I want to have a classroom where my students are engaged and getting to actually know my students very well because there needs to be that connection built in order engage them.

2. That moment when they say “Oh I get it”

That moment when children would struggle with something for awhile then have it make it sense and they understand the concept. It is such a great feeling and that was when I realized I wanted to teach.

3. Excited to learn from my students

I always learn new things especially from students. They are just always full of curiosity and knowledge and know that I will learn something new from them everyday.

4. Being able to teach in Spanish and English

I grew up going to bilingual elementary school and I loved it. At first I was scared because I didn’t know any language perfectly, but it really did help me improve and progress in both languages. I really enjoy speaking Spanish along with music that is in Spanish. I really want to be able to have that in the classroom

5. Make a positive impact on them no matter how big or small it may be.

My teachers definitely impacted me positively and I want to do the same for my students. We have the power to impact them and make a change.

6. Watch my students grow

The students won’t stay in my class forever and will move on in their education. It is always great to see how much they have learned and changed over time and we get to see them take those steps.

7. The challenges as a teacher

Being teacher will have challenging times especially the days with that challenging that you can’t get through or maybe parents and staff members. I am looking forward to learning and growing from those challenge because that will help me improve as a teacher.

8. Going back to where I grew up

I want to go back to my neighborhood and teach in Sacramento because thats where I found my passion for teaching.

9.Bringing culture and diversity

Bringing my own culture in the classroom and of course many other is something I look forward to and would enjoy showing my students how diverse the world is.

10. Showing my passion for teaching

I have always had a passion for teaching even when I did not realize that’s what I wanted to be that was what my heart was set on from the beginning. Looking forward to bring that passion in the classroom that it is seen when I teach.

It is really hard to put my top ten reasons on what I’m looking forward to in teaching because I can list much more. I’m super excited and a little nervous to have my own classroom. This program will help me get where I need and at times where I may be stressed I can remember why I am doing this.
