While I technically missed my first conference, Professor Hunt and I talked on the phone for project one so I think it may count? We discussed ideas for the speech and whether or not I wanted to talk about the psychological element of biking or how biking is incorporated into movies. I ended up choosing neither because I could not find a good video that I was interesting in to give a speech on. I decided with a video on a girl who had been a national winner of downhill mountain biking who would have to overcome three serious injuries in order to keep doing what she loved. I picked this topic because a lot of my friends from home have torn their acls in soccer and had to overcome that injury in order to keep playing the sport they loved.
