Due to COVID-19, my freshman year at university was cut short. After a couple of months of this new chapter of my life, I returned to Los Angeles to the familiar comforts of home. However, even though I wasn’t gone for too long, I found myself recognizing the differences in who I used to be and how San Francisco had changed me. This is an original poem about growing up, finding my own voice, and feeling parts of me melt away as I constantly work on changing for the better.
