Today I went to the Speaking Center as a walk-in appointment. A man named Sameer, who I recognized from a speech we saw with Professor Hunt about scientific presentations. Sameer was extremely helpful and definitely has extensive experience with helping people writing speeches, giving speeches, and great communication skills. His job was not easy, being that I did not have a lot of information to give him about my speech, because it is still in the forming stages of the speech. However, Sameer was able to help me turn my very general ideas into an outline for a speech, with a thesis and subtopics. I was having a hard time finding out how to relate my topic with audience and bicycles, in a coherent outline. Overall, this trip to the Speaking Center was very successful, and made me more confident and excited about this speech.
