Audience in important to me as a speaker, and will increasingly be as I move on as a student and in my future career. As of right now, my audience is this Speaking of Bicycles class. So, I tend to write and speak in a way that is interesting and relevant to the class. However, as I grow older, the stakes may increase as my job may be at stake rather than my grades. Therefore, my focus on audience will most likely become more stressed. I don’t know what I plan to do for work, and I haven’t even declared my major yet, so I still have a ways to go in terms of figuring out what kinds of audiences I’d want to talk to. I can say that my audience will most likely pertain to my career though. The difficulties in making an impact on my chosen audience may be the differences between us and/or being able to relate to them, in turn presenting information that may not relate to them.
