Today’s visit with Krista Schnell was lovely. At some point during the presentation, she began to speak about women in the workforce and the change of gender involvement in certain majors or work places. At UC Berkeley, the sociology class that she teaches contains 37 women and 3 men. This is a drastic change in gender within the educational field, according to Schnell. There’s also a way to connect this back to the article of Men Explain Things to Me. The sectioned entitled Women Fighting on Two fronts, where Rebecca Solnit explains that the battle of women attempting to get into the workplace and make a larger impact among education can clearly be seen by Schnell’s example.
