Building Community Among Students Interested in the Asia Pacific

This fall, the Center for Asia Pacific Studies offered a variety of community-building activities for USF students interested in learning more about–and sharing their knowledge of–the Asia Pacific. See below for video highlights showcasing all the fun we had together!

We began the semester with a Boba Run to campus favorite Little Sweet, followed by a quick walk back to campus to enjoy our drinks as we played games and got to know each other out on the quad.

Next, came our official Fall Welcome event, Let’s Make Miso Ramen, in which students learned how to make a delicious bowl of Japanese miso ramen in an interactive online cooking demonstration in partnership with with Table for Two (TfT), a nonprofit with a social mission to eliminate global hunger and reduce health issues related to unhealthy eating.

We finished out the semester with the teamLab: Continuity Asian Art Museum Excursion, an awe-inspiring visit to the digital art installation that allowed students to become active participants in the viewing process and “reflect on the shared creation of the world we live in.”

The center looks forward to sharing more exciting events with our student community in 2022!
