The success of nonviolent civil resistance: Erica Chenoweth at TEDxBoulder

In Erica Chenoweth’s Ted Talk she talks about how nonviolent civil resistance is more successful in comparison to violent protests and are becoming more frequent. The way that Chenoweth speaks in the video, she speaks about how she had thought that violent protests/civil disobedience was more successful than nonviolent until she researched and saw the numbers and realized that she was wrong which showed her character and how she would admit that her assumption was false.

Chenoweth also discusses how nonviolent disobedience allows for all people even the elderly, women, children, etc to get involved and is more inclusive and representative, whereas violent disobedience is more physically demanding and more exclusive and I thought that it was an interesting point for her to make.

Overall, I liked this talk and found it informative about civil disobedience. I agree with her points and she was organized in her talk and was formal and shared good points.
